Swallowing

I just got diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophogitis. I think I get the general idea of what it is (thank you google - my doctor is not so great with communication). But I never took the swallowing class, and I don't have the book. Does anyone have much experience with it at all or any info on eosinophils? Prognosis and eosinophils are what I don't get. Do they ever go away completely? Will I get to eat solid foods again? etc.
Cheers,
Tiff

so sorry this is happening to you! is it from allergies? i don't have a lot of experience here, but hopefully some of the others in the hospital setting can chip in and help out! good luck and hope things go better.

I am an SLP in Davis District and my husband was diagnosed with this condition a few years ago. The current recommendation is to take a Flovent inhaler. Instead of inhaling like normal he was told to swallow the medication and then thoroughly rinse his mouth out with water only. The GI doctor originally dilated his throat several time before being diagnosed with this condition and it's not really a recommended treatment. For him now it's just watching the foods he eats and avoiding trigger foods and using the inhaler as infrequently as possible.
